Do you have any books I can read for fun -- fiction, novels, best sellers? Can I go to the local public library?

Answer

Both Downcity & Harborside have leisure reading sections (green labels on the books), mainly made up of bestsellers and other popular fiction and non-fiction titles.

If you're looking for a wider selection, you can get a public library card! Go to any Providence Public Library/Providence Community Library location with a photo ID and proof of your residency in RI (like a bill or a copy of your lease).

PPL's web site includes all the details about getting a library card.

Like Johnson & Wales, the PPL is part of a statewide network of libraries that all share books and other materials, so you can go to their catalog to request something your local library doesn't have.

The Central Library of the Providence Public Library is just a few blocks from the JWU Downcity campus, and the Washington Park Community Library is the nearest location to the Harborside campus.
