As an instructor, may I legally copy and distribute copyrighted material to my students?

Doesn't the TEACH Act authorize teachers to freely copy and distribute copyrighted material as long as it's associated with a course they are teaching?

Unfortunately, the TEACH Act does not provide blanket authorization for all copying done by teachers.

Please use the link below to view a simple checklist of criteria for the legal copying and distribution of copyrighted material.  If you can agree with each statement in the checklist, your use of the material would be covered by the TEACH Act.
