The Johnson & Wales Library uses the Library of Congress system to organize our books. That means we use a combination of letters and numbers on the spine of each book to decide where it should be shelved.

This guide to How to Read Call Numbers can help you locate books. Keep in mind that J&W has two Providence campuses, so be sure you know which location has your book before you go looking for it. Also, a book may be in our main collection, or in reference, or on reserve, and all of those books are in separate areas of each building.

Sound complicated? Ask at any library service desk and we'll point you in the right direction!
