On January 14, 2019, SRDS unveiled a new look and functionality on their site (there is also a new URL, https://jwupvdz.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://login.srds.com/).
If you have ten minutes, you can check out this overview video provided by SRDS: https://info.kantarmedia.com/new-srds-design-video
They will be offering training sessions, and they will also be holding a webinar on January 30, 2019 (sign up here)
The changes are mostly to the user interface. Here are some notable updates to the ways that you can access information in SRDS:
- Resources can be found in the sub-header menu (as opposed to the side menu)
- DMA (designated market area) maps & profiles are now found in the ‘Market Maps and Data’ link in the header (they can no longer be searched)
- To access Claritas/PRIZM, click on ‘Claritas 360’ in the header , then ‘login to claritas 360'
For Claritas-specific tutorials, you can explore the Claritas knowledge center. The following tutorials should help address some of the more common uses at JWU:
Here is a full list of changes, as provided by SRDS:
- Homepage now has a large search-bar on homepage
- Streamlined results have removed a lot of the unwanted sponsored advertisers
- The filtering options on the lefthand toolbar are streamlined. For example, searching for a DMA within the Newspaper database you can now select
- multiple DMA’s at once instead of one-at-a-time.
- Media listings now have the data with drop-down menus instead of tabs.
- Digital websites now allow search functionality by Comscore demographics
- Local Media by DMA search functionality and DMA refiner were removed
